What a cookie is
A cookie is a small text record stored by a browser and returned to the relevant website. Similar local technologies may perform related functions. SMC limits these technologies to what the service currently requires.
Current technologies
The secure-account cookie is necessary to provide the requested service. Cloudflare Web Analytics is cookie-free. Google Analytics cookies are optional. SMC does not use analytics for advertising, profiling, or cross-site tracking.
Your controls
Cloudflare Web Analytics remains active as cookie-free aggregate measurement. Select “Accept analytics” to allow Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics to load, or “Use necessary only” to keep Google services blocked. You can change the choice at any time through “Cookie settings” in the footer. Withdrawing consent removes accessible Google Analytics cookies and reloads the page without Google tags.
You can also delete or block cookies through your browser. Blocking the strictly necessary session cookie prevents the secure account from keeping you signed in, but public program and institutional pages remain available. Signing out revokes the active session through the platform.
Analytics scope and updates
Cloudflare Web Analytics measures aggregate page views, referrers, and real-user performance without client-side state. When Google Analytics is accepted, it measures page use and three completion events: an Information Desk request, creation of a secure application, and submission of an application for review. Event data excludes names, email addresses, application identifiers, application content, uploaded documents, and payment information. Page locations sent for analytics exclude query strings and fragments.
SMC uses Google Consent Mode v2 in its basic implementation: Google tags do not load and no data is sent to Google before analytics consent. Questions about cookies or related personal-data processing may be sent to office@smceducation.com. See the Privacy Notice for broader information.
